Terms of service
The terms on which M-Bay Specialists accepts instructions from attorneys and legal firms.
1. Who these terms apply to
These terms apply to attorneys and legal firms instructing M-Bay Specialists. They are not terms of treatment and they do not apply to claimants as patients.
2. Nature of our services
We provide expert medico-legal opinion and report writing. An assessment carried out for medico-legal purposes does not create a treating practitioner–patient relationship, no treatment is provided, and nothing in a report constitutes medical advice to the person assessed.
3. Instructions and acceptance
4. Fees, quotations and payment
5. Turnaround times
Timeous delivery is one of our stated values and we plan capacity around it.
6. Cancellations and non-attendance
7. Expert independence
Our specialists provide independent expert opinion. An expert’s overriding duty is to the court, and that duty takes precedence over any obligation to the instructing party. We will not adjust a finding to suit an instruction.
8. Confidentiality
Information received in the course of an instruction is treated as confidential and is handled as set out in our privacy policy.
9. Limitation of liability
10. Use of this website
The content of this website is provided for general information about our services. It does not constitute medical or legal advice, and no warranty is given that it is complete or current. Content and branding on this site remain our property.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The current version is the one published on this page.
